DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR FAMILY RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATIONS

 

        Documents Related to the Applicant:

 

1.Residence Permit Application Form
Must be signed by the foreign applicant and/or their legal representative or authorized attorney with a power of attorney.

 

2.Photocopy of Passport or Passport-Equivalent Document and Visa (if any)
Photocopies of the pages containing identity information, photograph, and visa details (if applicable). The original document must be presented on the day of the appointment.

 

3.Two (2) Biometric Photos
Taken within the last 6 months, with a white background, biometric, and compliant with ICAO standards.

 

4.Proof of Payment for Residence Permit Fee and Document Fee
Nationals exempt from the residence permit fee only pay the document fee.

 

5.Proof of Single-Entry Visa Fee Payment
Required for those coming to Turkey visa-free and applying for a residence permit for the first time within the legal stay period, or for those who have overstayed. Nationals exempt from single-entry visa fees are excluded.

 

6.Marriage Certificate, or "Full Population Register" Showing Spouse Information if Married to a Turkish Citizen
If obtained from Turkish authorities (Provincial/District Population Directorates), must be e-signed/signed and stamped/sealed; if obtained abroad, notarized Turkish translation and Apostille certification are required. For countries not party to the Apostille Convention, or if the Apostille is missing, documents must be approved by the relevant foreign authorities (consulate/embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs or authorized Turkish authorities) with notarized Turkish translation.

 

7.National Electronic Notification Address (UETS)
For extension and transition applications, a UETS document obtained from PTT central branches is required. (Not required for minors under 18.)

    

    For Applications Made on Behalf of a Child:

 

• If parents cannot be identified from the passport, passport-equivalent document, or national ID cards: certified birth certificate of the child.
• In case of divorce: certified custody document or consent from the other parent if joint custody or visitation rights exist.
• If one parent is deceased: certified death certificate.
• If one parent has been declared missing: certified missing declaration.
• If the child was born outside the marriage and custody is with the other parent: a document showing custody by the other parent.

 

(All such documents must be e-signed/signed and stamped/sealed if from Turkish authorities; if obtained abroad, they require Apostille and notarized Turkish translation. For non-Apostille countries, documents must be approved by relevant foreign authorities and notarized in Turkish.)

Documents Related to the Sponsor (Present at the Application):

9.1 If Turkish Citizen:

 

Original and photocopy of ID card / identity certificate (original must be presented at the appointment).

If married to a foreigner, a “Full Population Register” showing spouse information.

9.2 If Foreign:

 

Photocopy of passport or passport-equivalent document (pages with identity info, photo, entry/exit, and visa details). (Original must be presented.)

Photocopies of residence permit, work permit, blue card, refugee or subsidiary protection ID documents (originals must be presented).

 

10. Proof of Sufficient and Regular Financial Means

Original e-signed/signed or stamped/sealed document showing sufficient income to cover at least one-third of the minimum wage per family member.

If sponsor is a Turkish citizen, a written income declaration is sufficient.

 

11. Valid Health Insurance Covering All Family Members

• Insurance must cover the requested residence permit period. Acceptable documents include:
• e-Signed/signed and stamped/sealed document showing access to healthcare under bilateral social security agreements;
• Provision document from Social Security Institution;
• Application for general health insurance from SSI;
• Private health insurance policy (show the first page with policy number at the appointment).

 

12. Biometric Photo of the Sponsor

One (1) biometric photo required.

 

13. Proof of Address

13.1 Current Residence Certificate

 

• Must be obtained from e-Government (www.turkiye.gov.tr) along with one utility bill (electricity, water, natural gas, or landline) or subscription contract for new users.
• Mandatory for foreign applicants applying for extensions or type/province changes.

 

13.2 Document Showing Place of Stay

Acceptable documents include:

 

• If staying in your own house: photocopy of title deed with numbering document.
• If renting: notarized rental agreement including landlord information.
• If staying in a hotel: document proving stay and receipt covering the residence permit period.
• If staying in a student dormitory: e-signed/signed and stamped/sealed document.
• If staying with a third party: notarized declaration from the host; if host is married, notarized declaration of spouse also required.
• Third-party host must provide recent utility bill or subscription contract in the applicant’s name.
